Safe, efficient energy management starts locally.

Unlock remote control & flexibility benefits

Your chosen energy trader or aggregator can operate your energy assets in real-time, allowing you to access new revenue opportunities from market prices and grid services.

Maximize output within grid limits

Local control strategies run directly on the Teleport. They protect your grid connection, coordinate multiple assets behind-the-meter, and keep operating — even when cloud connectivity drops.

Stay ahead of compliance requirements

Grid operators and regulators are raising the bar. The Teleport is ISO 27001 certified, NIS2 and RED 3.3 compliant, and RfG-certified in multiple European countries. New requirements don’t require new hardware.

The control layer asset owners and energy traders actually agree on.

The Teleport Gateway connects your energy assets — solar, wind, batteries, EV chargers, or any combination — to your energy partners and IT systems.

Installed on-site, it acts as a local EMS: executing control commands from your trader, coordinating multiple assets behind-the-meter, and running protection strategies independently of the cloud.

Asset owners retain full visibility into how their assets are operated. Traders and aggregators get a safe, reliable, and standardized execution layer for their portfolio.

Get started with the Teleport

One system instead of many integrations.

Without Teleport
With Teleport
Managing multiple asset types means working with inconsistent OEM protocols, building custom integrations for each new asset class, and maintaining them over time. Without local control, your grid connection is vulnerable to overloading, risking penalties and operational downtime.

Flexibility unlocked
in a fast, secure, and compliant manner.

Fast

Fast & easy integration

One gateway, countless use cases.

Explore the control strategies and market services available through the Teleport.

Grid connection safeguard

Prevents your site from exceeding contractual or physical grid limits. The Teleport monitors load in real time and adjusts asset output automatically to avoid penalties and protect equipment.

Zero feed-in

Keeps excess power from being exported to the grid, using solar curtailment, battery charging, or both.

Power reservation

For sites without local consumption: reserves a fixed safety buffer so physical limits — circuit breakers, transformer ratings — are never breached.

Grid operator compliance (RfG)

Meets the real-time communication and remote control requirements from grid operators, including the Realtime Interface (RTI) in the Netherlands and equivalent European standards.

Peak shaving

Uses a battery to absorb demand peaks and cover high consumption periods — reducing grid exposure and connection costs.

Maximize self-consumption (PV + Battery)

Stores surplus solar generation in a battery and deploys it when needed, reducing imports from the grid.

Hybrid control, cable pooling

Coordinates solar, wind, and battery assets as a single system, optimizing combined output within a shared grid connection limit.

Cascade control (multi-meter sites)

Manages power limits across multiple grid connections on a single site, ensuring the total stays within the main contractual limit.

Connect to any energy trader

A neutral execution layer between your assets and your trading platform. The Teleport processes dispatch commands, validates them against local limits, and adjusts if needed — protecting both the asset and the grid connection.

Congestion management: CBC and GOPACS (NL)

Receives signals from the grid operator via GOPACS or follows scheduled Capacity Limiting Contracts — reducing feed-in or consumption during congestion events.

Congestion management: Zonbalans (NL, Enexis)

Adjusts solar feed-in based on real-time irradiance data, in line with the Enexis Zonbalans program.

Balancing service: FCR

Adjusts asset output within seconds in response to grid frequency deviations (Frequency Containment Reserve).

Balancing service: aFRR

Regulates output every few seconds based on automatic control signals (Automatic Frequency Restoration Reserve).

Balancing service: mFRR

Provides manually activatable reserve capacity within minutes for larger grid imbalances (Manual Frequency Restoration Reserve).

Forward data to your monitoring and optimization tools.

Integrate your Teleport data straight into your preferred monitoring and optimization tools. Every data point stays under your control.

By deploying Withthegrid’s Teleport, we can quickly market a service to control assets on site. We need to take little to no account of the different asset configurations, so we can fully focus on deploying the service. The short communication lines and quick follow-up by knowledgeable people make for a very pleasant cooperation.

Frequently asked questions

See all questions

What is the Teleport and what types of assets does it connect to?

The Teleport is a local, brand-independent controller that connects energy assets to the cloud for real-time monitoring and remote control.

It supports more than 450+ asset types – including solar inverters, wind turbines, small and large-scale batteries, EV charging poles, generators and meters.

Asset owners, energy traders, and grid operators can access live performance data and send control commands through a single standardized API.

Is the Teleport an EMS?

The Teleport runs on-site EMS functions: it enforces static and dynamic grid limits, handles peak shaving, and coordinates multiple assets behind the meter — autonomously, without depending on cloud connectivity.

Market-facing optimization (battery dispatch based on price signals, for example) is handled by your trader / cloud platform, which connects to the Teleport via API. More details on which control strategies are part of the Teleport can be found on the Control strategies page.

For which application/asset size is the Teleport suitable?

The Teleport is designed for commercial and industrial assets from 50 kW upward, and supports portfolios ranging from a single site to 1 GW under management. It is not intended for residential applications.

How does pricing work?

Pricing covers hardware, connectivity, and a subscription fee. The structure depends on asset size and configuration complexity.

• Assets under 1 MWp: three-year, all-inclusive CAPEX model.
• Larger assets: Combined CAPEX and OPEX components.
• Proof-of-concept testing is available for a fee.

Can we discuss compatibility and a potential collaboration?
