How Novar standardized monitoring and control across 650MW of solar assets with the Teleport
Novar partnered with Withthegrid to streamline real-time monitoring and control of its expanding 650MW solar asset portfolio with the Teleport Gateway.
Get to know Novar
Novar is a Dutch company focusing on developing large-scale sustainable energy systems for the corporate market, including solar and energy storage projects and energy solutions for large industrials.
The company aims to shape the energy transition by providing innovative and efficient energy solutions, with an ambitious target of realizing 4GW of operating capacity by 2030.
The vision
As Novar rapidly expands its portfolio, the team sought a unified solution to monitor and control dozens of rooftop, ground-mounted solar sites, and other assets with a total capacity of 650 MW (take-off or feed-in).
The solution
For this project, Novar chose Withthegrid because it aligned closely with their standards for security and efficiency:
- Robust yet flexible hardware
Thanks to its extensive Asset Library (supporting 450+ types of assets), the Teleport easily connects with various inverter brands. - Reliable curtailment
If the network link goes down, the Teleport holds onto the last-known or pre-defined power limit settings. That ensures compliance with any PPA or DSO instructions – even during outages. - Smooth integrations
The Teleport easily integrates with Novar’s own system and third-party systems. - Strong security focus
Emphasizing robust security measures (ISO27001 certification, encryption, and authentication), Withthegrid provided Novar with the peace of mind to confidently scale operations without compromising security.

The early wins
While the project is ongoing (with 150MW live, 350MW in the operational phase, and the rest in the pipeline), Novar’s team is already seeing positive results:
