🚗 Keep EV charging within contract limits

Worried about your growing fleet of EV chargers pushing your site over its contracted power limit? Meet the EV Power Limiter control strategy.

It actively monitors your grid connection’s power consumption and adjusts the maximum power available to your EV chargers if needed, preventing contractual violations while keeping cars charging.

It also integrates with limitPower schedules for dynamic grid capacity situations like Capacity Limiting Contracts (CBC).

🖥️ New in the Teleport Console

We’ve introduced new Console features to help you manage your account and Teleport(s), with better visibility and control:

  • Configuration details for assets and active control: You can now find details on your assets such as IP address, and active control, as well as connected assets and configured limits.
  • Manage your organization and partnerships: In the new Access Management tab you can see who has console access to your Teleport(s), including team members and external partners, and you can invite colleagues to join your organization, without needing support.
  • Improvements to issues: To help you manage your monitoring notifications, you can now subscribe to or unsubscribe from issues, allowing you to focus on what matters most. Each issue now includes a timeline added to the issue conversation that shows changes such as added participants. Also, you can now see your forwarding destination issues in the Console.
  • Manage your account: New settings for two-factor authentication and recovery codes improve both account security and recovery options.

⚙️ Improvements

  • Apart from PV and wind assets, it is now possible to control and communicate with batteries via the Teleport’s local Modbus server. For more information, see the Modbus Server documentation.
  • Added functionality to the Battery Peak Shaver controller to support EV assets.

Meanwhile our asset library continues to grow, for more details, please check our Release Notes.

July 2025

Uptime report

99%

Whether you’re heading on vacation or managing the summer peak, you can rest easy. This July, our cellular connectivity, data forwarders, and device gateway all nailed 100% uptime. Our API was just shy of perfect at 99.97% 🕶️

Check the always-on status here.

🖥️ New in the Teleport Console

Your time is valuable, so we’ve introduced new Console features to help you manage operational issues more efficiently:

  • Automated re-opening for recurring alarms: Instead of creating a new ticket for a recurring problem, the console now automatically re-opens the original issue if the same alarm appears shortly after being closed. This keeps the history of an issue in one place, making it easier to track and diagnose.
  • Automated reminders for open issues: To ensure nothing gets overlooked, the console will now send automated email reminders for any issues that have remained open for an extended period.
  • New “Asset owner” role: You can now grant your own customers access to the console with the “Asset owner” role. This allows them to view the performance and status of their specific assets, giving them the transparency they need.

⚡ New in the Asset Library

Our Asset Library continues to grow:

🚗 Test your EV integrations with demo asset

You can now use a “Demo EV” asset connector to test your EV control API and data forwarding setup from end to end, without needing a physical vehicle on site. It’s a simple way to validate your configuration and ensure everything runs smoothly before going live.

⚙️ Additional improvements

General improvements:

  • For users with Tesla utility assets, we’ve added a heartbeat signal and now block write commands when the asset is in read-only mode.
  • The issue history for any device is now directly accessible from the Teleport Console.
  • We now support forwarding EV Power messages to external MySQL databases.

Control enhancements:

  • EV charging: We’ve improved power distribution for cars that consume on a single phase and for vehicles that take longer to ramp up their charging speed.
  • Vestas AP wind turbines: Alarms and setpoint capping have been fixed for when a turbine is not operational.

We also worked on a number of asset-specific fixes for Phoenix ContactGotionSiemensFox ESSKehua, and SMA, and we have removed the v1 scheduling endpoint, which was deprecated in November 2024.

More details in the Release Notes.

June 2025

Uptime report

100%

Summer is coming, and things are heating up. But the Teleport Gateway kept its cool, delivering a 100% uptime throughout June ☀️

Check the always-on status here.

🖥️ The Teleport Console

We’re launching the Teleport Console, designed to give you better overview and operational insight as you scale your Teleport deployments.

Teleport Console

The Console provides:

  • Clear insight into your operations:
See exactly what each Teleport is connected to, who has access to it, which control strategy is active and how data is flowing. All of this is, of course, handled in a completely secure way.
  • Real-time issue tracking:
Get immediate insight into problems happening to your Teleport, connected assets and EMS, and who is responsible for resolving them.

📡 Remote control for relays via API

You can now use the API to schedule commands for relays. This means you have the ability to remotely switch or disconnect assets. This feature provides a new layer of control over your energy assets, allowing for more dynamic management of your on-site operations.

Please note: With this new capability, it’s important to use caution and ensure commands are issued responsibly to prevent unintended disconnections or operational disruptions.

🧩 New asset integrations & expanded support

We’re continuously expanding our asset library to support even more devices, giving you greater flexibility and choice for your projects. This month’s additions and improvements include:

⚙️ Additional improvements

General improvements:

  • Forwarded messages now include the Teleport’s own errors and alarms.
  • Solar monitoring is now disabled at night.
  • Nominal active power is now monitored to check if the configuration is too high.
  • Deviation alarms for solar and wind assets are less sensitive to short disturbances.
  • Improved monitoring of EV consumption limits.
  • The “powered down” alarm email now accounts for potential connection issues

Control enhancements:

  • You can now set negative feed-in and consumption limits in the limitPower API command.
  • Improved peak shaver SoC (State of Charge) management and curtailment handling.
  • EV power curtailment limit monitoring is now less strict, reducing false alarms.
  • The EV monitor now checks all relevant limits before raising a connectivity issue

We also worked on some asset-specific fixes for SungrowBachmannFox ESSDelta-ESSPhoenix Contact CharxAlphaESSEaton, and updated documentation.

More details in the Release Notes.

May 2025

Uptime report

100%

As spring hits full swing, the Teleport Gateway matched that vibrant energy with a perfect 100% uptime 🌷

Check the always-on status here.

⚡ New in the Asset Library

New integration: AlphaESS Smile household batteries
The Teleport now supports SMILE-G3 series (T4–T10), enabling control of active power via dispatchPower and control the setpoint percentage at which the battery should be with chargeToState.

A note on field testing: While we are confident in this integration, a full field test is still pending, so some functionality may not be fully validated in all scenarios yet.

Ayond JuiceBox battery: Now with charged and discharged energy metrics
The Ayond integration now reports both charged and discharged energy values for a more complete picture of your battery’s performance and energy flow.

📡 Enhanced data forwarding

EV messages in Postgres Data forwarder
Send detailed EV data — including power, consumption, and setpoints — from your charging stations straight to your Postgres database for deeper analysis.

batteryPower messages for Synaptiq
Monitor battery systems more precisely with newly added batteryPower message support for Synaptiq users.

🚗 EV control improvements (in progress)

Our team is making significant progress in finalizing a series of improvements to EV control functionalities within the Teleport. Multiple fixes related to EV distribution and group asset connectors are already in the testing phase.

These enhancements will provide more stable and precise management of your EV charging operations. We will share more detailed information as these features become fully available.

🛠 Additional improvements

  • More flexible battery monitoring: We’ve added the ability to loosen the monitoring parameters for battery unresponsiveness.
  • Monitoring enhancements: Feed-in and consumption are now counted separately for more precise tracking. Additionally, EV distribution is now actively monitored.
  • Device stability: A recovery measure has been implemented for instances where an EROFS (Error Read-Only File System) error occurs on the Teleport device.
  • Improved asset integrations:

Our documentation has also been updated to reflect these changes, including additions to our installation guide, clarifications on setpoint aggregation in the battery peak shaver documentation, and updates for specific unsupported models for Goodwe and Huawei.
