On June 1, 2024, the Energy Trading Platform Pannenweg (EHP-P) took the next step towards its own energy hub. From this date forward, EHP-P members have been supplying electricity to each other at predetermined prices. Any electricity shortages or surpluses are managed through market trading via the self-supply platform of OM | Nieuwe Energie.
Additionally, EHP-P, in collaboration with OM | Nieuwe Energie, brought the Teleport online to address transport scarcity.
The Teleport is an on-site energy management system (EMS) designed to read-out meters in real-time and curtail (switch-off) the PV panels when needed. However, it also enables greater use of electricity generated by members’ solar panels.
Unlike previous systems that required solar panels to be curtailed based on static limits, the Teleport allows continuous production as long as other members of the energy hub consume the electricity. Consequently, members now only need to curtail production if they exceed their combined grid limit, rather than their individual limits.
In this way, much more electricity can be generated and used locally without overloading the Enexis network.
Wim Schilders, Chairman of EHP-P, stated:
