The IoT module BACE by Evalan is highly suitable for substation monitoring. By connecting any industry standard sensor to this module, it can monitor your substation in real-time. Examples of sensors which can be connected to BACE are: temperature, pressure, flow, transformers, pumps and valves. Additionally, the module contains built-in sensors to monitor substation performance, via temperature and relative humidity, as well as presence of persons, intended or potentially unintended, and light intensity, which could mean that a door is open. Finally, the BACE contains GPS to determine the real-time location of the module.

Software functionality

BACE is a plug-and-play module, upon delivery it will already be connected to the Withthegrid asset monitoring platform. Operators and technical personnel can install the device easily, after connection monitoring of asset performance starts immediately. In the platform you can monitor asset performance, change reporting frequency and set alarms, so you are always in control.
